During a RIF, employees compete for retention based on the following factors, in order of priority:
Group | Description |
---|---|
Group I | Career employees who have completed their probationary period |
Group II | Career-conditional employees and career employees who are serving a probationary period |
Group III | Employees serving under term, temporary, or indefinite appointments |
Subgroup | Description |
---|---|
Subgroup AD | Veterans with a compensable service-connected disability of 30% or more |
Subgroup A | Veterans who are not in Subgroup AD |
Subgroup B | Non-veterans |
Length of service is based on your service computation date (SCD), which represents your total creditable federal service. The earlier your SCD, the more service credit you have.
Additional service credit is given based on the average of your last three annual performance ratings, as follows:
